DynamicSky2D Parameter Guide

DynamicSky2D is composed of a sophisticated combination of Sky, Star, Cloud, Moon, and Sun elements, all controllable in real-time.

 



🕹️ 00_Control (Master Layer Dashboard)

This group provides integrated control over the Visibility and Blending Rate of each sky component. All values are designed to operate between 0.0 (Completely Removed) and 1.0 (Maximum Exposure).

  • Sky_Rate: Adjusts the density of the background sky gradient.
  • Sun_Rate: Controls the brightness and presence of the Sun layer, determining the core intensity of day scenes.
  • Moon_Rate: Adjusts the exposure of the Moon layer, allowing for immediate control of lunar clarity in night scenes.
  • Star_Rate: Simultaneously controls the overall density and brightness of the stars in the night sky.
  • Cloud_Rate: Controls the transparency of the cloud layer; setting this to 0.0 creates a clear sky without a single cloud.

 



🎨 [Group 01] Sky & Gradient

The core group that determines the beautiful sunset and night sky colors seen in the visuals.

  • 01_Sky_01_Main: Handles base colors and rotation (Base_Color_Top/Mid/Bottom, Sky_UV_Rot).
  • 01_Sky_02_Gradient: Manages the blending levels between colors (Top_Mid_Rate_Add/Mul/Pow, Bottom_Rate_Add/Mul/Pow).
  • 01_Sky_03_Distortion: Creates haze and distortion effects near the horizon (Offset_Wave_Add/Mul/Intensity, Noise_Rate).

 



✨ [Group 02] Star

The star layer adds density and vividness to the night sky.

  • 02_Star_01_Appearance: Controls the tiling, density, contrast, and rotation of the star texture.
  • 02_Star_02_Twinkle: Adjusts the speed and randomness (Offset_Randomness) of the twinkling effect to provide a sense of life.
  • 02_Star_03_Color: Sets the base color and overall emissive intensity of the stars.

 



☁️ [Group 03] Cloud

This layer determines the basic shape and movement of the atmospheric clouds.

1. 03_Cloud_01_Appearance (Form & Placement)

  • Cloud_Tex: The texture that determines the shape of the clouds.
  • Cloud_Tiling_U / V: Adjusts the horizontal and vertical repetition of clouds across the sky.
  • Cloud_Tiling_Add_U / V: Fine-tunes cloud placement by adding a subtle offset to tiling values.
  • Cloud_Subtract: Thins or removes specific parts of the cloud by subtracting values from the texture.
  • Cloud_Edge_Sharpness: Adjusts the contrast of cloud edges to express either a fluffy or sharp feel.

2. 03_Cloud_02_Movement (Dynamic Flow)

  • Cloud_Speed_U / V: Determines the horizontal and vertical movement speed of the clouds.
  • Wind Simulation: Wind direction and strength can be simulated in real-time using these parameters.

3. 03_Cloud_03_Shading & Color (Shadows & Lighting)

  • Cloud_Color: Sets the overall color of the clouds (e.g., red for sunset, deep blue for night).
  • Cloud_Brightness: Adjusts the self-illumination of the clouds.
  • Cloud_Shade_Softness: Adjusts the softness of the shadows at the bottom of the clouds. Higher values increase depth and volume, while lower values emphasize a flat, stylized look.

 



🌙 [Group 04] Moon

Determines the position, size, and most importantly, the Phase of the moon.

1. 04_Moon_01_Appearance (Form & Phase)

  • Moon_Tex: The main texture applied to the lunar surface.
  • Moon_Pos_U / V: Determines the horizontal (U) and vertical (V) position of the moon in sky coordinates.
  • Moon_Radius: Adjusts the overall size (radius) of the moon.
  • Moon_Phase_Offset_U / V: The offset values that change the lunar phase, enabling shapes from crescents to full moons.
  • Moon_Phase_Cutter_Size: Determines the size of the 'cutter' circle that carves the moon's shape to calibrate phase sharpness.

2. 04_Moon_02_Edge & Detail (Edges & Texture)

  • Moon_Phase_Edge: Adjusts the softness or hardness of the moon's edges.
  • Moon_Phase_Offset_Pow: Adjusts the attenuation curve of the phase boundary to determine shadow contrast.
  • Moon_Tex_Intensity: Controls the visual intensity of the lunar surface texture.

3. 04_Moon_03_Color & Glow (Color & Emissive)

  • Moon_Color: Specifies the base color of the moon (currently set to yellow tones).
  • Moon_Intensity: Adjusts the overall emissive intensity to determine its presence in the night sky.

 



☀️ [Group 05] Sun

Determines the basic position and size of the sun in the sky.

1. 05_Sun_01_Appearance (Form & Position)

  • Sun_Tex: The texture used for the sun body (currently using T_Sun_01 for a flame effect).
  • Sun_Pos_U / V: Adjusts the horizontal (U) and vertical (V) position of the sun.
  • Sun_Radius: Determines the overall size by adjusting the sun's radius.

2. 05_Sun_02_Edge & Detail (Surface Detail)

  • Sun_Tex_Intensity: Controls the visual clarity and density of the applied sun texture.

3. 05_Sun_03_Color & Glow (Color & Emissive)

  • Sun_Color: Specifies the base color of the sun (currently white/bright yellow tones).
  • Sun_Intensity: Adjusts the overall emissive intensity. Increasing this maximizes HDR effects and Bloom.
